Fillings

A filling is just one of the ways we restore and repair a damaged, decayed, or worn tooth. It maintains and mimics the natural anatomy of the tooth. There are different types of fillings: amalgam (otherwise known as silver fillings) and composite resin, the color of which can be customized to match your natural teeth.

Amalgam

Amalgam filling is a very durable restoration option for restoring back teeth and can be placed in a single visit. They last a very long time and are less likely to fall out or break.

Composite Resin

Since the color of a composite resin filling can be customized, it is the most aesthetically pleasing option, however, it is not as strong as an amalgam filling. Composite resin is ideal mostly for front teeth - repairing chipped or cracked teeth, correcting discoloration, or changing the shape of teeth.
